Description
Major responsibilities include:
Organize and implement instruction within the speech/language model that serves students in accordance with the IEP and the least restrictive environment.
Design instruction, both individual and small groups, which parallel the general education curriculum and meet the student’s communication needs.
Know and utilize differing models of speech and language service delivery as needed to meet student needs (co-teaching, inclusion, resource room, supplemental and supplanted instruction)
Confer with parents, administrators, specialists, psychologists, outside agencies to develop and monitor individual education plans designed to promote students’ education, physical, behavioral and social development.
Participate in the district’s Child Find processes (child development days, screening), complete special education referrals and evaluation.
Use educational technology as well as assistive technology to support communication for the IEP process.
Develop lesson plans and instruction materials to provide individualized and small group communication instruction for use in a variety of educational environments.

Wisconsin DPI License #820 or #1820 Speech & Language Pathology is required.
Must meet state certification and licensure requirements
Must be able to carry out assigned responsibilities
Must demonstrate effective use of the English language, both verbal and written
